Manor Wood Primary School in Meanwood, Leeds, has become the latest school to join the Owlcotes Multi-Academy Trust.
Manor Wood Primary School is a well-established, Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ primary school, with a reputation in the community for being a caring and nurturing environment where every child is valued. Manor Wood Primary School is an inclusive school with high expectations for pupil’s academic achievement and personal development. Their talented staff team is led by the Headteacher, Mrs Deborah Kenny – a vastly experienced school leader and National Leader of Education.
With just over 500 pupils across 14 classes, Manor Wood Primary School is the 5th primary school to join the Owlcotes Multi-Academy Trust, joining Pudsey Primrose Hill Primary School, Pudsey Waterloo Primary School, Calverley Parkside Primary School, and Armley Park Primary School.
“We are so excited to be joining the Owlcotes Multi-Academy Trust” said Mrs Deborah Kenny. “We believe that Owlcotes’ ethos and values align with our own and we are looking forward to being part of a community of like-minded schools and staff. Owlcotes’ commitment to school improvement and professional collaboration, whilst preserving the identity of our school, was very attractive to our team and we are excited about the future as part of a ulti-academy trust”.
On Tuesday 13th June, Mrs Lesley West, CEO of the Owlcotes Multi-Academy Trust, visited Manor Wood Primary School to met children and staff and to present the pupil reading ambassadors with a celebratory £500 cheque for Manor Wood to continue developing its library and reading offer, in line with the Trust’s 'Every Child a Reader' initiative.
Lesley said “Manor Wood Primary School is a fantastic school with an exceptional team of staff and leaders and a commitment to achieving the best for its pupils and the school community. We are thrilled to welcome them to the Owlcotes family. Owlcotes was set up with a genuine desire to provide excellent education for pupils and I am so pleased that Manor Wood’s decision to join our Trust is an endorsement of our vision and values. I have no doubt that Manor Wood will fit in perfectly and be a valuable addition to our family of schools”.
Owlcotes Multi-Academy Trust was established in March 2018 by its two founding primary schools, Pudsey Primrose Hill Primary School and Pudsey Waterloo Primary School, with the aim of developing a collaborative approach to school improvement, and a commitment to preserving the unique identity of any schools that join. Collaboration is at the heart of our Trust; each school is an equal partner and our dedicated staff are committed to providing an inclusive and ambitious curriculum for all of our pupils. We firmly believe in schools having their own individuality. This preservation of unique identity enables our schools to focus on the key priorities of teaching and learning that are specific to their own school and communities.
